2nd phase of technology project beginning stages in early November

With the Courageous Steps Project year coming to a close, we have one last project that we would like to start at least before we end our amazing 2015 year.

The project has delayed the start of the technology project, but we hope by the beginning or second week of November, that we can get this phase going.

This phase includes the purchase of 2 keyboards for the iPads, a screen device (projector or television), and an Apple TV device. Details are still begin worked out, and we won't know until we figure out the final costs of the project.

Our goal is to keep the project to around $300 or $400 with a limit of $500. Our goal is to first purchase the keyboards, and then we will purchase the projector or tv, along with the Apple tv device.

If you have any questions about this project, feel free to contact Connor Archer at: [email protected].

As the 2015 year starts to fizzle out, we are focusing on expanding our efforts in 2016. One way we are doing that, is by finalizing our Courageous Steps 2016 Walk-Run event early details. This includes completing the Step System for Businesses, finalizing the dates, and getting donation and sponsorship forms ready to be sent out to businesses before the end of 2015.

The 3rd annual Courageous Steps Walk-Run event will be held on Sunday May 22nd at Old Town High School's Victory Field. The rain date is set for Sunday May 29th.

The event will run from 11am to 2pm. We will start our walk at noon, and our run at 12:45 or so, hoping to conclude the event at 2:00.

Another change this year will include our silent auctions. This year, our plan is to focus on doing our silent auction online, so we can operate a quick event at Victory Field, and then people will head out.

"I believe that we can combine the efforts of the last two years in many ways" says Archer, who is running his 3rd Courageous Steps fundraiser.

We hope by the end of 2015, that we have our forms released online, and we hope to start collecting early registration later in March and early in April.

You can donate anytime throughout the year by mailing your donation to Old Town High School, 203 Stillwater Avenue, Old Town, ME 04468.

The Courageous Steps Project's fall season has been onto a slow start. "I expect a successful fall season to progress in the coming weeks" says founder Connor Archer.

So far, the project has worked on revamping it's website, for a updated user-friendly experience for our users. "The new facelift has already impacted the user-friendliness of our website" said Archer.

The project also has released it's step system that will be put into action this next year, when we start fundraising for the 2016 Courageous Steps Walk-Run event. "I believe that this will shift the project into a new direction" said Archer.

The project hopes to start the 2nd phase of the Green House Nursery School Technology Project in early November, as we hope to purchase keyboards, and look into screen options for showcasing the new iPads that they received this past summer. "I am hoping to get this phase wrapped up soon, so we can begin our third phase which includes purchasing more iPads for the school." stated Archer.

"As the year ends, we hope to have started our fundraising stages for next year, and we hope to get the 2016 fiscal year rolling" added Archer.

The Courageous Steps Project is now accepting scholarship fund applications for the 2016 graduating class at Old Town High School.

This scholarship only applies to Old Town High School graduating seniors. If you need a form, please feel free to print one off our website, or go to the guidance office, and pick up a copy of the form.

All applications are due on March 30th, 2016, and our recipients will be announced on Old Town High School's graduation recognition night.

We encourage you to apply, so we can have an estimate number of people to support. The more people that apply earlier, the more likely you are of receiving a scholarship. Each scholarship will be around $250 to $500.

If you have any questions, please contact Connor Archer at: [email protected].

Courageous Steps website receives new modern look

10/1/2015

The Courageous Steps Project recently has changed the look of it's website, making it cleaner, sleeker, and more user friendly. This comes as the Courageous Steps Project, is aiming to attract more people to support it's efforts.

The new website layout includes a menu bar, that is accessible wherever you are on the website. As you scrolled down the pages on the old website, you couldn't access other pages as efficiently. Now, you can scroll down each page, and find that the menu bar goes as you continue down the web page.

Other features on the new Courageous Steps Project website, include messages on top of each page encouraging sponsorships, donations, and involvement in the Courageous Steps Project. Each message includes a picture that shows the impacts already made by the support of people.

The new website is also faster for an efficient user-friendly experience.

We hope this new facelift, allows our project to be showcased to a broader audience, as we hope to get more people involved.
