Olivia SchancKAssistant Program Coordinator & Lead Teacher, Green House Village PreschoolOlivia Schanck joined the Courageous Steps team in December of 2023 and comes to us from the University of Maine where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Child Development and Family Relations with a minor in Leadership Studies. With the help of Connor, Karen, and the entire Green House Village staff, I am excited to see where this program can go. My goals moving into my first year are to have a classroom built on the foundations of balance. A balance between outdoor and inside, exploration and leading, respect and trust. An inclusive environment that leads children to be equitably equipped with the skills necessary to reach their full potential through exploration and experiences, the opportunity to be independent learners alongside their peers while actively engaged in play and always room for growth as they develop their new skills. I will reflect on my practice by observing the children and documenting their developments in order to expand and create new lessons that will further their growth based on this data. I am beyond excited to join this team and to have a place to not only grow the skills of the students I work with, but of myself too. Please do not hesitate to reach out and introduce yourselves to me as I become a part of the Green House Village family.
