![]() Sarah Koelbl, a recipient of a Courageous Steps Project Wishlist grant, has sent us some pictures of her items purchased by this small grant, in her classroom. The picture on the side is an example of what you can find in her classroom. "So far we are using the bean bags to keep their bodies busy and enhance focus at circle time" according to Sarah. Sarah is a kindergarten teacher at the Searsport Elementary School, and continues to incorporate these types of fidgety items in her classroom, as she integrates more of them throughout the year. If you are a classroom teacher in the state of Maine, please feel free to contact us at: [email protected], to send your wishlist for a chance to receive one of our grants.

We want to thank everyone who applied for the grant. An announcement of who receives a grant will happen late September, early October. The Courageous Steps Project launched it's Charitable Giving initiative to give back to organizations that are in need of support for their programs that help children and young adults with developmental challenges. Since 2014, The Courageous Steps Project has raised over $30,000 for organizations around Eastern Maine, and beyond. Coming in 2017, The Courageous Steps Project will have an online application for you to fill, instead of submitting it on paper. This will be easier for organizations, and will help with our goal of streamlining all applications and requests online for the future. If you are a business owner, and you would like to see our Charitable Giving initiative grow in your community, please contact us at: [email protected]. If you have any other general inquiries about charitable giving, please contact us at: [email protected]. ![]() The Courageous Steps Project has partnered with Yankee Candle for a catalog fundraiser from now until December 31st, 2016. 40 percent of the proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit Courageous Steps endeavors. Organizations from across the region applied for this grant, in hopes to potentially receive a grant for their project. The Courageous Steps Project Charitable Giving fund was created to support schools and organizations who want to fulfill their mission of helping children and young adults with developmental challenges. Since 2014, The Courageous Steps Project has raised over $30,000 for programs that help these individuals. Founder Connor Archer is already looking into expanding the Charitable Giving fund into other parts of Maine, and eventually New Hampshire, to help more non-profit organizations, and tax-exempt schools. It is also a hope that the applications will be filled out online to avoid having to send the application in by mail.
