Green House Technology Expansion Project
The Courageous Steps Project has been finishing up the first phase of the project. The mission of the first phase was to transform areas of the pre-schools, into outdoor learning environments. Founder, Connor Archer, created 2 gardens, and he transformed the front entrance of the pre-school. This phase of the project will never be complete.
Our next portion of the Green House Nursery School Project, will be the technology expansion portion of the entire project. The first phase of the technology expansion, will allow for one iPad to be used in the classroom, and in workspaces. Their will also be a $50 gift card to help them buy apps through the app store on their iPad. The first phase also includes the installation of a bluetooth speaker system in the classroom, to be used for educational music and read-alouds on books. The first phase also includes beginning process of building a website for the Green House Nursery School.
The second phase of the project includes purchasing more iPads, and will include a monitor to be used in the classroom. Other things probably will be added on, but we will have a meeting with staff to see what their needs are.
Each iPad purchased, will be purchased with a 2 to 3 year warranty plan, allowing any damage in those first three years, to cover the iPad. Our vision with the iPads, it eventually that every staff member in the school, has an iPad, and can take it home to learn how to use it, to then use in the classroom with the young children that they work with.
In order to do that, we need your help! To make a donation, please send your donation to Old Town High School, 203 Stillwater Avenue, Old Town, ME 04468. If you want to write a check, please make your check out to Old Town High School with Courageous Steps in the memo. Our hope is to take this technology expansion outside of the Green House, and apply it to other early childhood education programs in the future.
