About One Word Challenge
The Courageous Steps Project has recently, made it a commitment to educate others about embracing who we are as a person, no matter if we have a challenge, or not. It's because of a keynote given to RSU #34 in 2015, that Connor Archer, founder & CEO of the Courageous Steps Project, has decided to start this project called 'One Word'.
We have asked people what a word that describes them as a person, educator, or business owner, would be. We video taped them saying that word with, or without a poster in front of them. Each word was inserted into an eight minute video mentioning all of these words, sending a powerful message to many people in our community.
The Courageous Steps Project's 'One Word' Challenge campaign started in 2015, after the Veazie Community School accepted the first 'One Word' Challenge. Since November 2015, five schools, and two other organizations have accepted and/or completed their 'One Word' Challenge videos. 'One Word' has continued to build stronger communities, from the original 'One Word' Project video, to now, this 'One Word' Challenge.
The 'One Word' Challenge continues to create new opportunities for The Courageous Steps Project, in hopes to provide school special education and unified basketball programs with funds to build their own programs, because of their participation with the 'One Word' Challenge.
