The Courageous Steps Project will be releasing it's "Step System". The Courageous Steps Project believes that this is the necessary next step, to allow the project to continue advancing in it's future endeavors. The Courageous Steps Project's Step System, has 5 steps (levels) starting with it's honorable mention category. The other 4 steps include bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. All the steps gradually increase in money for businesses. With the increase of money in each category, this will allow our businesses that have sponsored the Courageous Steps Project, to increase their sponsorship to the category that best fits them. This will also give businesses a little competition for the top spots in the step system. We plan on releasing the Courageous Steps Step System later in October to early November. We still have some adjustments to make, so anything mentioned above, could change slightly, but we have the foundation of the system formatted at this point. If you want to find out more about the step system, please contact Connor Archer at: [email protected]. Connor Archer, founder of The Courageous Steps Project, speaks to RSU #26 staff at their opening day. Here is the video footage from the event itself.
The Courageous Steps Project is on a slow start to our fall season. Founder Connor Archer, will be taking the fall to get some small projects done, along with building new policies, to allow the project to grow for the upcoming years. Some of the new changes going on this fall will be the implementation of our Step system. This is basically a tier system, with different levels of donations. That step system will be released later this fall, to be used in the 2016 fundraising for the Courageous Steps Walk-Run event in May. Another project that we hope to complete this fall, will be the second phase of our technology expansion project at the Green House Nursery School, which will include a flat screen tv monitor, an Apple TV device to connect the iPads to, and the cords with the stand that will hold the tv on it. We hope that with this phase complete, we can begin the third phase in the Winter of 2016, as we are partnering with the Galen Cole Family Foundation, to purchase 5 iPad Pro's with keyboards, and the necessary devices needed. With the end of 2015 coming up in December, that means our 2016 season will be getting started. This will include the fundraising for Courageous Steps Walk-Run 2015, the second group of students to graduate with a Courageous Steps Scholarship, and many more events, and projects, to complete for our third year as the Courageous Steps Project. If you have any questions, please contact Connor Archer at: [email protected]. The Courageous Steps 2016 Walk-Run event will be held at Old Town High School's Victory Field complex in May of 2016. The tentative date for the third annual fundraiser will be on Sunday May 22nd, 2016, with the rain date being Sunday May 29th, 2016. Our dates will be finalized in October of this year, as we hope to start getting sponsorships for the 2016 fundraiser. If you have any questions, please contact Connor Archer at: [email protected]. Phase 2 of Green House Nursery School Technology Expansion Project beginning later this fall9/20/2015 The Green House Nursery School, has changed the way that technology is used in early childhood education, in the past 2 months. The Green House Nursery School has used the two new iPads purchased through the Green House Nursery School Technology Expansion Project, supported by the Courageous Steps Project, to play games, listen to music, to use with young children with challenges to learn new skills, and to help staff to use this technology in an efficient way. The Courageous Steps Project, is proud to announce, that the second phase of this expansion project will begin later this fall. The second phase includes Apple Keyboards for the two iPads, a television screen, an Apple TV device that showcases the screen of the iPad, and the cables that will hook up to these devices. We also hope to assist the Green House in buying apps, and songs, for the iPads. With the second phase beginning, this will allow the third phase, which will be made possible with help from the Galen Cole Family Foundation, to begin in the Winter of 2016. This will involve the foundation purchasing 5 more iPads for each staff member. These iPads will be coming in early 2016, and will be used in workspaces, in the classroom, and in other places at the Green House. With that comes an exciting opportunity for the Courageous Steps Project to create something with the foundation, which will involve older students that have been to the museum, and will create a program that will hopefully give more early childhood education programs, the opportunity to receive technology for their programs. As with anything that the Courageous Steps Project does, we are always looking for donations to help the project to accomplish these projects. Please visit our How to Donate page on our website to find out more on how to donate.
