The Courageous Steps Project founder and now CEO Connor Archer, wants to remind organizations that the deadline to apply for a Courageous Steps Charitable Giving Grant is Thursday September 1st at 11:59pm. The application must be at least postmarked by Thursday September 1st. The Charitable Giving grant will range from $500.00-$1,000.00 this year, as we are currently in transition of becoming a non-profit organization. By January of 2017, The Courageous Steps Project will be working with other organizations to provide more opportunities for our Charitable Giving initiative. If you are an organization that has not applied yet, please visit our Charitable Giving section of our website, and download an application. If you have any questions about the application, please contact Connor Archer at: connor.archer@thecourageousstepsproject.org. The Courageous Steps Project held another successful back-to-school drive, collecting several boxes of school supplies, and donations to be used to purchase more supplies. Governor's also donated money from Ice Cream cones sold that day. Founder, and soon to be CEO Connor Archer, spent from 8:30am to 6:00pm outside the well-known Governor's Restaurant & Bakery to collect supplies. The Old Town Recreation Center's leaders group came by and helped hold signs, and even collected donations from people. "It's great to have these kids see how successful a fundraiser can be." says Archer. This is the second year that the leaders group has partnered with the fundraiser to do this. Even though we received lots of donations that day, we are still in need for supplies. Around Old Town & Orono communities, there are bins with a Courageous Steps Back-To-School Drive sign. They are either Black, White, or Green. From now until Friday August 12th, you can drop a bag or bag(s) of supplies at those locations. You can find a full list of locations on the homepage of our website. We are still in need of Clorox Wipes, Expo Markers, Binders, Lunch Boxes, Backpacks, along with other supplies. Anything that you can supply would help our cause very much. Contact Connor Archer at: connor.archer@thecourageousstepsproject.org with any questions. The Courageous Steps Project has partnered with Thirty One for an online catalog fundraiser from now until Wednesday August 10th. 20 to 25 percent of proceeds will benefit Courageous Steps endeavors. You can find a catalog by going to www.mythirtyone.com/jbhewes, and click My Parties. There you will find the one and only link, The Courageous Steps Project.
If anyone is interested in hosting a catalog party by September 30th, you will receive hostess rewards, and 10 percent of proceeds will benefit Courageous Steps endeavors. If you have any questions, you can contact Jess Hewes at: jbhewes@gmail.com, but you can also contact Connor Archer at: connor.archer@thecourageousstepsproject.org. The Courageous Steps Project's 3rd annual back-to-school drive will take place tomorrow at Governor's Restaurant in Old Town from 9am to 5pm. Monetary donations and supply donations are encouraged, as all proceeds from the day will go towards supporting schools in the Old Town/Orono area communities, along with other small Eastern Maine communities that need it most. If you can't make it tomorrow, please drop off a bag of supplies at these following locations: Old Town Recreation Center, Old Town Orono YMCA, Old Town Public Library, Orono Public Library, Bangor Savings Bank (Old Town & Orono branches), Penobscot County Federal Credit Union (Old Town), Governor's Restaurant thru Friday August 5th, and The Green House Nursery School in Milford. To make it more encouraging for you, please bring extra money to buy an ice cream cone for $1.99. All proceeds from that day will go towards this year's back-to-school drive campaign. If you have any questions, please contact Connor Archer at: connor.archer@thecourageousstepsproject.org. |
