2016: A Year In Review
JanuaryOn Tuesday January 5th, Connor Archer visited the Green House Nursery School to reveal the items from Phase 2 of the Green House Nursery School Technology Expansion Project. This completed the phase 2 portion of the project, which included the purchase of keyboards, a projector, along with other accessories for both the items.
On Tuesday January 12th, founder Connor Archer went to the Nokomis Regional High School, to give a keynote to the RSU #19 Autism team, along with other staff in the district, and a group of 5th graders from the Sebasticook Valley Middle School, who at the time, were learning about the challenges of Autism, and how to get along with friends that have the diagnosis.
FebruaryOn Thursday February 4th, Connor Archer went to the Viola Rand Elementary School in Bradley, to videotape students saying their one word, for their 'One Word' Challenge production. This challenge was accepted by principal Cheryl Leonard. The Viola Rand Elementary School is the 2nd school to accept this challenge.
On Thursday February 4th, Connor Archer went to visit the Alton Elementary School, to videotape students saying their one word, for their 'One Word' Challenge production. This challenge, like the Viola Rand Elementary School, was accepted by principal Cheryl Leonard. The Alton Elementary School is the third school to accept this challenge.
On Tuesday February 9th, the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Organization, announced that Connor Archer was a state honoree for being Maine's Top High School winner. Archer will take the Courageous Steps Project to Washington D.C., to share what the project has done, on a national level.
On Sunday February 14th, a date for the Courageous Steps Benefit Dinner is set for Tuesday March 22nd, at the Old Town Governor's Restaurant from 4pm to 8pm.
On Friday February 19th, founder Connor Archer accepted a check for $500 from the Machias Savings Bank in Bangor, ME. They are the first platinum sponsor that the Courageous Steps Project has had, since the establishment of the 'Step System for Businesses.
On Friday February 19th, the Green House Nursery School was given Kindle Fires, as part of the kick off of phase 3 of their technology expansion project. This phase will continue throughout most of 2016.
On Wednesday February 24th, the Courageous Steps Project released Alton Elementary School's 'One Word' Challenge production. They are now the third school to complete this challenge.
